Matilida's Horned Viper was discovered in southern Tanzania during a biological survey. It measures around 60 centimeters and has horn-like scales above its eyes. The vipers habitat is only a few square miles of a remote forest in Tanzania. Scientist are not saying its exact location for fear of the snakes safety.
Question: Why would scientist not want to tell the world exactly where the snakes habitat is? What do you think would happen to the snake population if people knew where it lived?

Well if people did not know where it lives and it is poisoness they could get hurt and if they needed to transportate them somewhere else they could find the right environment. Blue 4-5 HK
if people new where it lived people will try kill it for anything and the population will decrease. blue jj
A:because the population of the human race would find the new species of snake and kill it for its skin meat and or venom :)

I think that scientists don't want to tell the people where the snakes habitat is so that the people will stay away from the snake's habitat and so that they won't get hurt

if scientists found it they would help find more and get them to reproduce they have ots of camoflodge so when they are on dead trees or even alive ones then they would blend in very well into there surroundings to keep them safe from harm like people and preadotors ks green
I wonder how they found it.I think it would probably hard to find it while its blending in with something. It's amazing though that they found a new species. Now we need to find some more ofthe same offsprings so they can reproduce and not go extinct.AM Green
