Hello Parents!  On this page you will find review questions that you can use to help you son/daughter study! I encourage you to set a time each evening a few days a week and play a review game.  You could ask each other questions from the review and keep points! Make it fun!!

I also have sets of vocabulary cards in my room that can be checked out.  Just email me at szwahr@brenhamisd.net and I send home a set......please do not forget to return them after the MAJOR TEST.  :)

REVIEW QUESTIONS FOR THE FIRST TEST 

1.  At what temperature does water freeze on the Celsius scale?

answer: 0 degrees Celsius

2.  At what temperature does water boil on the Celsius scale?

answer: 100 degrees Celsius

3.  Name something that is not matter.

answer: Light, Electricity, Ideas, and thoughts.  They are not matter because they do not take up any space or have mass.

4.  Will you mass and weight be the same on the moon?
answer: Your mass will be the same because it is what you are made of - you are still made of the same molecules when you are on the moon.
Your WEIGHT will change on the moon because the amount of gravity on the moon is only 1/6th the Earth's gravity.  Weight is the pull of gravity.

5.  What state of matter has the most energy?  Solid, liquid, or gas
answer: - A gas because the particles are moving the fastest so they have the most energy.

6.  What state of matter has the least amount of energy?  Solid, liquid, or gas
answer:  A solid because the particles are vibrating in place so they have the least amount of energy.

7.  The freezing point is = to the ______________ point.
answer: melting point.

8.  Every substance has its own _______________ and _________________ points.
answer: melting/freezing and boiling/condensation 

9.  What are the two ways to change the state of matter?
answer: add heat or take away heat

10.  Name 2 examples of condensation
answer: clouds in the water cycle, dew on the grass, shower mirror after a hot shower, a cold water/soda bottle after you take it out of the cooler and water droplets form on it.
